General Information

Widespread but rarely seen in any numbers.

 

Usually very distinctive yellow or orange bands on the underside, however in old specimens the colour may be "washed out" and hardly visible.


Flying: May to July

Habitat

Mostly in dry and often rocky grassland, especially on limestone.

Regional Information

Recorded in 54 (2.8%) of the 1900 10km squares of Bulgaria.
