General Information

This species is easily ridentified by its two black-edged brown cross bands.

 

The subspecies hartwiegi occurs in the UK.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 15-17mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea)
