General Information

The vernacular name of this species presumably comes from the white bases to the antenna.

 

Pupates in the stem of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): thistles (Carduus spp.), burdocks (Arctium spp.), Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea), herbaceous plants
