General Information

Pink and yellow markings make this moth unmistakable. The amount of pink is variable, with the most numerous form f. auroraria having large yellow patches and margins. f. totatubra is nearly completely pink.

 

Flies from dusk and at dawn.

 

Pupates in plant debris on the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 8-10mm.
Foodplant(s): Marsh Cinquefoil (Potentilla palustris)
Flying: One generation, late June-July
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Damp heaths, bogs, mosses, marshes, fens and wet grassland.

Regional Information

There are no records in the system yet in Bulgaria.
