General Information

This is the most common member of this oak-feeding group.

 

The larvae create a long slender gallery mine that widens markedly compared with S. atricapitella.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 4.5-6 mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and July-August
