General Information

This moth has characteristic strong serrations on the antenna (hence its name).

 

The larvae produce a long red/brown gallery mine in autumn and a broad yellowish mine in spring after hibernation.


Wingspan: 6-9mm
Foodplant(s): Wood-sedge (Carex sylvatica), sedges (Carex spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-July

Habitat

Boggy areas, damp shady woods and broads.
