General Information

This moth has a black head and a dark brownish forewing with a bronzy sheen.

 

The larvae produce a relatively short mine which widens quickly.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Often found at rest during day

Wingspan: 4.5-6mm.
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August-September
