General Information

This species has a variable ground colour.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Often found at rest during day

Forewing length: 22-26mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), birches (Betula spp.), Hazel (Corylus avellana), hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Crab Apple (Malus sylvestris), sallows (Salix spp.)
Flying: One generation, late May-mid July
