General Information

This species is extremely variable in colour and can be difficult to tell apart from similar species, including the Square-spot Dart E.obelisca and the Coast Dart E.cursoria.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: 13-17mm.
Foodplant(s): bedstraws (Galium spp.), Corn Spurrey (Spergula arvensis), mouse-ears (Cerastium spp.), herbaceous plants
Flying: One generation, mid July-early September
