General Information

This species is widely variable in both size and colour, but is quite distinctive.

 

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 14-21mm.
Foodplant(s): Broad-leaved Dock (Rumex obtusifolius), Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata), Field Woundwort (Stachys arvensis), Common Sea-lavender (Limonium vulgare), Potato (Solanum tuberosum), Common Hop (Humulus lupulus), Lesser Burdock (Arctium minus), low-growing plants
Flying: One generation, August-October
