General Information

This species is similar to the Green Oak Tortrix but has a white leading edge to the forewing and a white hindwing.

 

Pupates in a cocoon attached to a twig or stem of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.
Flies during the day

Forewing length: 10-12mm.
Foodplant(s): Osier (Salix viminalis), Creeping Willow (Salix repens), sallows (Salix spp.), willows (Salix spp.)
Flying: One/two generations, late May-July and August-September
UK Presence: Resident, Possible Immigrant

Habitat

Broads, fens, sallow carr and damp woodland.
