Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 17-21mm.
Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.), Alder (Alnus glutinosa)
Flying: One generation, June-early August

Mature broadleaved woodland and wooded heathland.
