General Information

Widespread in forested areas in foothills and montane zones, most often seen as males 'puddling' on forest tracks.

Foodplant(s): Goat Willow (Salix caprea), Grey Willow (Salix cinerea), Crack-willow (Salix fragilis)
Flying: One generation, late June-mid August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Least Concern

Habitat

Woodland and dense scrub.
