Delattin's Grayling (Hipparchia volgensis) is extremely hard to separate in the field from Grayling (Hipparchia semele ) and Southern Grayling (Hipparchia senthes) as they cannot be reliably separated except by examining the genitalia. According to Zdravko Kolev H. semele is mainly in the mountains south of the Stara Planina, whereas H. senthes in in the hotter areas mainly in the south of the country. Because of the location where these specimens were photographed there is a good chance that the photos here are of H. volgensis.
