In Europe this species only occurs in the Balkan Peninsula, where it is very local and rare in southern half of Bulgaria, in northern Greece and Macedonia. Elsewhere it occurs east to Central Asia.
In Bulgaria it can be confused with its cogener, the Eastern Bath White (Pontia edusa), which is widepread and common. The slide among the pictures above points out the differences.
Hot dry rocky places usually in or near river valleys.
