Found in wild uncultivated places, including bogs, acid heaths and limestone outcrops. Male active by day in sunshine.

Resembles some forms of Epiphyas postvittana.

Wingspan: 13-16 mm.
Foodplant(s): plants and shrubs
Flying: One generation, June-September
