General Information

The male moth has a black head and a greenish golden metallic forewing with silver fascia. The female has a black or orange head.

 

The larvae create a slender direct gallery which changes abruptly to a blotch, usually on the leaf margin.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.

Wingspan: 4-5 mm.
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.)
Flying: Two/three generations, April-May, July-August and September
