This species is distinctive with pale forewing markings which form the shape of a cross when seen from above.


Wingspan: 12-15 mm.
Foodplant(s): sallows (Salix spp.), willows (Salix spp.)
Flying: One generation, June-early August

Habitat

Damp open woodland, boggy heaths, banks of streams and sand dunes.
