General Information

This species is similar to the Hornet Moth, but smaller with a black head and shoulders. The adults are rarely seen, as no pheromone lure is available, but they can be found early in the morning, newly emerged from Willow trunks.

Moth activity times: 8:00-12:00.


Overwinters twice as larva. Feeds close to the ground in the first year moving higher in the second year.
