General Information

Flies from dusk.

 

Pupates attached by silk to the underside of an oak leaf, falling with it to the ground.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 12-14mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea)
Flying: Two generations, mid May-early July and late July-early August
UK Presence: Resident

Oaks in woodland, heathland and carr.
