General Information

This moth can have quite variable markings.

The larvae create a white/green blotch mine down from the leaf tip. The pupa is anchored externally on the foodplant by a silken girdle.


Wingspan: 10-12 mm
Foodplant(s): Reed Canary-grass (Phalaris arundinacea), Common Reed (Phragmites australis), grasses
Flying: Two generations, May and August

Habitat

Damp habitats such as river and canal banks and marshes.
