General Information

This species was only recently discovered but it has spread rapidly throughout the UK and the rusty-coloured leaves caused by the leaf mines are now a familar sight in Horse Chestnut trees in mid to late summer.


Wingspan: 8 mm.
Foodplant(s): Horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), Norway Maple (Acer platanoides)
Flying: Several overlapping generations, April-October
