General Information

This species usually flies very late at night.

 

Pupates between leaves on the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 13-18mm.
Foodplant(s): Aspen (Populus tremula), poplars (Populus spp.), sallows (Salix spp.), willows (Salix spp.)
Flying: Two generations, April-May and August-September
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Woodland, scrub, carr, poplar plantations and hedgerows.
