In Europe this species has a very restricted distribition, being confined to, and very local in, northern Greece, Macedonia, south-west Bulgaria and European Turkey.
In Bulgaria it occurs on only a few south-facing rocky marble limestone slopes in the south Pirin Mountains, but it is very rare here.
So far we have only recorded it on rocky marble limestone mountain and hillsides in northern Greece, just south of the Bulgarian border, including on the Greek side of Mount Alibotush, which in Greece is known as Mount Orvilos.
