General Information

This is a small clearwing species with a yellow collar and three(F) or four(M) yellow cross-bands.

 

It can be seen around foodplants in sunny weather.

 

The male comes quickly and in numbers to pheromone lures.

 

Pheromone attractants: tip

Moth activity times: 9:00-19:00, peak 14:30-18:00.

 

Overwinters as a larva in the main stem or side stem of the food plant.

Flies during the day

Forewing length: 8-10mm.
Foodplant(s): Black Currant (in the stems) (Ribes nigrum), Red Currant (Ribes rubrum), Gooseberry (Ribes uva-crispa)
Flying: One generation, June-July
