General Information

Although this species was once quite common (hence its vernacular name), it is now uncommon.

 

Pupates in leaf litter.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 14-16mm.
Foodplant(s): Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur)
Flying: One generation, late May-early July
UK Presence: Resident

Habitat

Ancient oak woodland.

Regional Information

There are no records in the system yet in Bulgaria.
