A common and widespread species. Occasionally dozens (even 100s) can be seen nectaring on exstensive bramble (Rubus sp(p)) patches. Females are often seen searching well inside the bramble patches for ovipsoition sites.
Woodland glades and edges and in shrubby habitat where brambles (Rubus spp.) grow.
Recorded in 122 (6.4%) of the 1900 10km squares of Bulgaria.
